Hello!
My name is Ute and I am a German living in India. Horses have always been an important part of my life and I started proper riding lessons when I was eight years old even though I have ridden before that. For many years I had a lease horse and when I moved to India I started working in a stable with thirty Marwari horses. I soon bought my own horse, a chestnut stallion called Suraj. He was the first horse I trained and backed. He turned into a beautiful riding horse, unfortunately leaving this world far too early.
When I decided to permanently move to India, my husband and I started to purchase our own horses and build up our riding stable and small Marwari breeding center. I took care of the horse training and the raising of our foals and young horses, a job I enjoyed a lot. Soon I turned to Natural Horsemanship in order to help me with my training and ground work. I read everything I could get my hands on and attended a few courses in order to learn some of the basics. My methods are a mix of different training principles. I took what I liked and what worked for me from different trainers. I am open-minded and love to learn new things all the times.
What I do
I started this blog in order to document my journey with horses and maybe inspire the one or other of you in your work with a young horse. I am not sure yet in which direction it will develop, that only the future will show, but it will give you the opportunity to be part of my journey with horses.
The more immediate reason to begin here and now is that a friend of mine has brought her horse to me for training and I will first and foremost document the work I am doing with him. I might also include other thoughts in here and tell more about my work with my foals, fillies and other horses.
Besides working with horses, I am also a writer and a podcaster. I have so far published a couple of short stories and I am working on my first novel. I am also planning an E-book about horse training eventually.
I am co-host of the Equestrian Adventuresses Podcast, a show about horses, travel and adventures. If you feel you would like to listen, just click on the link:
